The Master of Engineering Science programme at University of Malaya is a research and dissertation programme, where students will be allowed to choose the field of research and study.

Course Structure

The PhD degree is offered by research mode only leading to the submission of a thesis.

Candidates are required to take Research Methodology course during the first year of studies.

Language Requirement
Have at least IELTS Band 5.5 OR; TOEFL 550 if the degree is from a university where English is not the medium of instruction
Entry Requirement

Applicants should possess one of following:

i. Master of Science degree or its equivalent in related field,or

ii. Any other qualifications approved by the Senate (except for conversion from Master’s to Doctorate programme)

• Preference will be given to applicants having a Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA 3.0 and above or its equivalent.

• Applicants having a Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA 3.7 and above can apply directly for the PhD programme.

** International students are required to achieved at least band 6 IELTS or a score of 550 TOEFL if they had obtained their Bachelor’s degree from a university in which the medium of instruction is other than English
