Engineering Computing Centre

          The Faculty of Engineering comprises eight Engineering Computing Centres (ECCs), with a combined capacity to accommodate approximately 2301 undergraduate and 1049 postgraduate students annually. These centres are equipped with high-performance central processing units, computer monitors, and liquid crystal display projectors to facilitate advanced teaching, learning, and research activities in engineering and technology-related disciplines. 

          The Engineering Computing Centres are further enhanced with a comprehensive range of specialised software applications designed to support academic instruction, technical training, and research development. These include ANSYS for engineering simulation and analysis, Anaconda and Python for programming and data science applications, MATLAB for numerical computation and modelling, Autodesk Inventor for computer-aided design and product development, IBM SPSS for statistical data analysis, and EndNote for reference management and academic writing. The availability of these software applications enhances students’ technical competencies and provides valuable exposure to industry-standard tools relevant to professional engineering practice and research.

          In line with the faculty’s commitment to providing a conducive and technologically advanced learning environment, enhancement works are currently being carried out for ECC 1, ECC 2, and ECC 3. This upgrading initiative is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, further strengthening the faculty’s infrastructure to support future educational and research advancements.
