Environmental sustainability is the rate of renewable resource harvest, pollution creation, and non-renewable resource depletion that can be continued indefinitely. If they cannot be continued indefinitely then they are not sustainable. Environmental sustainability is also the ability to maintain things or qualities that are valued in the physical environment which includes the natural and biological environments. This is the easiest and most key approach to express the idea. However, individuals utilizing the term environmental sustainability can determine or expound the term further to add additional significance or to apply the idea to more specialized contexts.
